Low Self Confidence

Thanks for being here, it means a lot! I wanted to share something a bit more personal today, because if you’ve ever felt self doubt creeping in, this one’s for you! I’ve always had a tendency towards low self confidence, so getting myself out there again and trying to promote ‘me’ has been hard (especially alongside all the identity shifts and body changes that come with becoming a mum - IYKYK!) There’s a little voice that likes to scream ‘you’re not good enough!’ |
But.. I’ve always wanted to help people and deep down I know I have so much to give. And now I’ve got the tools to turn that voice into a much gentler one. It starts by calming your nervous system.. |
One simple tool to calm your nervous system When I chat to my clients, the most common thing I hear is that they feel constantly ‘on edge’. So I have developed a tool called Mindful Moments to remind your body that you are safe. Here’s how to try it; 1. Pick one activity you already do every day - like making your morning coffee 2. Slow. It. Doowwwwnnn 3. Notice every sense as you do it
👂 Hear the granules tinkling into the mug 👃 Smell the coffee as you pour in hot water 👁️ Watch the liquid swirl and change colour 🤚 Feel the warmth in your hands 👄 Savour the flavour Why this works 🤓: Anxiety lives in the future or the past. Mindful moments pull you back to the present moment, where your brain gets the message; you’re safe, there’s no threat. This helps to relieve stress, pain, and softens the inner critic. And you don’t have to add AN EXTRA THING to your already busy day. |
