the questions everyone asks
faqs.
what happens in a session?
no two clients look the same, so no two sets of sessions do either - but the shape is usually similar. the first session is all conversation: your history, what you've tried, where you're stuck. you'll leave with a couple of small things to work on.
the next two go deeper into your experience of pain and your relationship with it, and this is where i introduce graded exposure to movement, relaxation techniques and pain reprocessing (PRT) tools.
from around session four we keep talking - triggers, lifestyle shifts, unhelpful thought patterns that have stuck - while movement builds gradually. enough to grow your confidence, never so much that it spooks your system. depending on your goals, you may need a gym nearby for movement between sessions.
will moving make my pain worse?
it's the number one fear, and a really understandable one. but moving in the right way, at the right pace, is one of the most powerful parts of recovery. we always start gently and build from there - never pushing past what your body is ready for - so movement becomes something that works for you, not something to be afraid of.
my scans were clear. does that mean it's "all in my head"?
absolutely not - your pain is 100% real. pain doesn't always come from damage or injury; sometimes there's no injury at all, and scans can look completely clear. it often means your body has become stuck in a protective, pain-producing pattern. it's very well-researched - and a pattern your body has learned is a pattern it can unlearn.
my scans came back with a diagnosis. does that mean this isn't right for me?
not at all. a diagnosis tells part of the story, but it rarely explains the whole experience of your pain - or how much it's holding you back, especially if the pain has been going on for a very long time. in the free call we can chat through what the possibilities are once i understand more about the diagnosis and what advice you've been given by your doctors.
how long does it take?
some people only need 10 sessions and then a couple of check-in sessions, others need more. it depends on your history and your goals. what i can promise is we're after lasting change, not a quick fix that unravels in a month. so it's an investment into the rest of your life, not just for the next few months.
is this yoga / meditation / a wellness thing?
everything i do is grounded in pain science and strength coaching, led by someone who's actually been through it. if calming or breathing tools genuinely help you, we'll use them if they fit your lifestyle.
what if i'm not sure i'm ready?
then the free call is perfect. it costs nothing, commits you to nothing, and you'll leave with a clearer head either way of what your next step should be.
why are your sessions priced the way they are?
because i keep session numbers deliberately low, and support you closely by whatsapp between them - a lot of my own time and attention goes into every client, not just the hour we spend together. clients regularly tell me the results speak for themselves: several have said they've made more progress with me in five months than decades of other professionals combined. that's the standard i work to, and it's what you're paying for.
